Dental Bridges

Do you have a missing tooth that is causing you problems? At Sunnybank Hills Family Dental we are dedicated to improving the lives of our patients with quality cosmetic and functional dentistry. When it comes to your smile, it’s important that you feel confident and secure. A dental bridge from our qualified and experienced dentists will give you the confidence you need to smile, talk, and to eat the things you want without worrying about your teeth.

With a dental bridge you will:
  • Have confidence in your smile
  • Have the ability to talk, chew and bite correctly
  • Enjoy greater shape in your face thanks to correctly filled in teeth
  • Prevent other teeth from drifting in your smile

For dental bridges our patients trust, contact us today! We are your dedicated cosmetic dentistry team, and we’d love to get you smiling.

Dental Bridges
Dental bridges are commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth. In order to have a bridge, you need at least one tooth or implant crowned to serve as an anchor. Usually, however, you have two – one tooth or implant either side of the space/gap and then another crown suspended between them – just like a bridge over a river!
Bridges are usually made of porcelain fused to metal (strong metal base with tooth coloured porcelain covering it). However all-ceramic or all-gold bridges can also be made. Your dentist will discuss the best option for your individual case.

What You Can Expect with Your Dental Bridge
Bridges are considered “major dental”, and your dentist will ensure you have an appropriate length of time booked in; this will allow time to prepare the tooth/teeth, take detailed impressions and make a temporary bridge. The impression will be sent to a dental laboratory where your custom made bridge will be constructed. Approximately two weeks after your initial preparation appointment, you will need to return for a shorter appointment to have your permanent bridge fitted.

Caring for Dental Bridges
Bridges can last a lifetime; however, as with everything in dental, they can also fail. Just as with your natural teeth, the durability of bridges depends on how well you look after them, so long as you implement good oral hygiene and return for regular dental check-ups and cleans, your bridge should last for many years to come. If you have any questions about caring for your tooth bridge, speak to one of our team members at Sunnybank Hills Family Dental for advice.

Dental Bridge Cost
When it comes to the cost of your dental bridge, the price will depend on the level of work that needs to be done on your bridge as well as any other dental work required to provide a strong foundation for your bridge to be placed. Dental bridges are all alike in their installation, but all different in the sense that everyone’s needs are unique.

As a result, the cost will vary – so please contact our team if you would like to speak with us about your dental bridge cost. We do have payment options depending on how many appointments you need, and you may be able to seek financial support from your private health fund or Medicare.

Contact us or call us on 07 3344 2180 to arrange a consult for your dental bridge. We’re open six days a week to make sure that we’re here at a time that suits you.
